How much time do I have to file my work injury claim?

You should file for workers' compensation benefits within six months of the injury date. Prompt filing ensures quicker access to benefits, while appeals for denied benefits may have timelines as short as 30 days or as long as six months.

WSIB guidelines provide for various benefits, including loss of earnings, non-economic loss, future economic loss (for injuries between 1990 and 1998), healthcare, return to work support, survivor benefits, retirement benefits, and special services for severe injuries or diseases.
