What We Serve

WSIAT APPEALS

The Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) manages compensation and no-fault insurance for workplaces in Ontario, adhering to its own guidelines to determine worker eligibility for benefits. Final decisions by the WSIB can be appealed to the separate and independent Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal (WSIAT). To initiate an appeal, individuals must submit written notice to the WSIAT within six months of the WSIB's final decision, outlining reasons for disagreement. Appeal proceedings at the WSIAT can involve oral hearings, mediation, or written submissions.
